Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP), a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is composed of women and men who seek their personal holiness through works of charity.
Both Holy Family Church and St. Bernard Church have active SVDP societies, which are involved in a variety of social-service projects in the community such as operating a food pantry at Holy Family Church, helping support emergency food distribution programs in Enfield, volunteering at a winter shelter, and other charitable endeavors.
