At Holy Family Church, a bereavement committee helps families prepare the funeral liturgy (Mass of Christian Burial) for their deceased loved one. This involves meeting with family members, reviewing with them the Scripture readings and songs unique to the funeral Mass, and otherwise making them aware of how the Church through its liturgies at the time of someone's passing uniquely witnesses to our belief in the Resurrection. The bereavement committee also meets regularly to review the ongoing needs of mourners and make recommendations for grief counseling, etc.
At St. Bernard Church a special funeral choir is available to sing at the Mass of Christian Burial. Please contact Beth Surapine, Music Director at (860) 962-4001
