Baptism is the "basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213).
To register for the Parish’s Baptism Prep Class, please call the St. Bernard rectory at 860-962-4001, ext. 121. Baptism Prep Class occurs on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM in the Good Shepherd Meeting Room at St. Bernard Church. Baptisms can be scheduled at the respective Church once parents have completed the Baptism Prep class. All required paperwork should be received in the Parish office that the Baptism will take place. Baptisms can be scheduled on any Sunday of the month except on major religious feasts or holidays.
